The Mantis Collective has advertised a call for entries for "REVEAL, again," the second annual show for local nonprofit organizations. This year, the exhibit benefits Moviate and Friends of Midtown.
The opening reception will be June 8, 2007 from 8-10 p.m.
Guidelines for submission are:
- Pieces must be on paper (do not frame)
- Must be 4" x 6" or 5" x 5"
- Art is accepted as donation only
- Pieces will be sold for $10 each
- Must receive art by June 6, 2007

for artist exhibition submissions
What is ‘Galley #2’?
This
is an ‘alternative’ space at Mantis (in fact, it is our restroom area) for
exhibiting fresh and raw original works. This space has been serving a ‘dual’
purpose since the start of 2006, showcasing works created by artists in
Baltimore,
Seattle
and our own local
region. The objective of this space is to showcase works created by starting
artists (novice, self-taught, underground) or those who fall into the category
of ‘outsider’ or ‘visionary’ category (to better understand what these
definitions are visit the American Visionary Art Museum website www.avam.org for more details).
This is a great way to begin your foray into the world of showing work at an
introductory level.
If
you are interested in procuring an exhibit in this space please read the
guidelines which follow below. All submissions will be assessed and those whose
works we at Mantis feel adhere to the mission of this space will be contacted. No
hard and fast age limits apply to applicants - 5yrs to 105yrs.
We are accepting submissions/proposals for the following:

Submission Guidelines:
- 3 images- either in jpeg format on CD or photos
- brief bio of creator
- brief artistic statement (no more than 100 words)
