Love tomatoes, but hate salmonella?

Buy local!

The governor sent out a news release yesterday reminding us that Pennsylvania-grown tomatoes are not part of the tomato recall.

There are plenty of good reasons to buy locally grown foods, and this latest in salmonella outbreaks should be a reminder to those who like good food to do their shopping at home.

To learn more about Pennsylvania produce, go to the Dept. of Ag's PA Preferred site. Find fresh produce, by searching PASA's Buy Fresh Buy Local page, and search local farms and farmers markets at LocalHarvest.org.

Or, download this guide to Pennsylvania veggies, care of SustainableTable.org.
