Weekend roundup 8/14

Hi folks! What's shaking? I'm finally in town this weekend, planning to visit the new Cocoa Beanery, see Tropic Thunder - and maybe The Wackness - and go to dad's for Sunday sauce. Looking for something a little more exciting? Try these:

• Tonight through Sunday is Girls Night Out at Whitaker Center.
• Pirates of the Susquehanna! Sail the river in pirate style Saturday or Sunday night.
• Sunday, the Art Association of Harrisburg hosts their One Night Stand event at Black Thorn Gallery in Mechanicsburg. Highlights include $5 cover, Troegs brews, snacks and music by The Greatest Funeral Ever.
• To kick off CHIP Week, Gov. Rendell's Chef, Barry Crumlich, will host a FREE kid's cooking class from 9-11 a.m. on Monday at The Cooking School at Giant.
