Well, wedding planning seems to be taking over my weekends already, visiting ceremony and reception locations and locking in a photographer. But, fear not, friends. I am quite far from being a bridezilla, and I'm also planning on hitting the gym (finally) and checking out Mikado's new west shore location. By Sunday, it's spa day - a leftover Christmas treat for my girlfriend and I.

Fenicci's of Hershey has long been a Hershey tradition. As the (un)official "go to" before and after Hershey Theatre events (thanks to owner Phil Guarno's specially tailored theme parties and cast nights - and the restaurant's walkable proximity to the theater), it's also one of the few places to find late night eats and entertainment in the Hershey area. On Friday nights, check out DJ Ray Rossi at Fenicci's, and experience a variety of acoustic rock on Saturday nights.
To win a $20 gift card to Fenicci's of Hershey, leave a comment below answering the following Fenicci's trivia question:
What was the name of Fenicci's of Hershey prior to 1988?
For an additional entry, become a friend of Fenicci's of Hershey on Facebook - just be sure to leave a second comment on this post saying you've done so.
Contest runs all week! Be sure to spread the word. For Fenicci's coupons, click through and print.

Happy New Year! I hope that Santa was good to you and maybe, if you planned as I did, you spent this last week at home and not at the office. It wasn't a particularly productive week for me, but it was nice to be off.
My New Year's plans consist of a low key evening with fewer than a dozen close friends. We'll have champagne, and I'm bringing guacamole, so things look good. Rumor has it someone's bringing the Super Mario Bros for Wii, so moments may get a little competitive.
After tomorrow we'll be in 2010, and don't you worry - there will be plenty of year-ringing events that carry on into the next decade. Check 'em out after the jump.

Wondering what bars and restaurants are open on Christmas Eve and Day in the greater Harrisburg area? Well, you've come to the right place.
As in recent years, you'll find there are a variety of options for eating and drinking on both nights.
Below is a round-up of some local taverns and eateries that are planning to have some holiday hours this year, and I'll continue to update as I know more. If you know of any additions, please e-mail me or add them in the comments. Happy Holidays!

... The Better Late than Never Edition.
With snow potentially in the forecast for this weekend, I'm planning to stick close to home. Unfortunately, my plans - which included the first night of Hersheypark in the Dark - were canceled due to inclement weather. I'm bunkering down to catch up on Tivo and maybe do some shopping tomorrow. However, don't let the weather deter you. Let's get right down to it.

**UPDATED** Now with more Halloween events!
Halloween is extra special delicious this year, not just because I'm going to not one, but two Halloween parties that require special attire. It's special because Halloween falls on a Saturday. Unlike our other major holidays, which suck up not just a night or a weekend, but for weeks or even a "season," Halloween is pretty much a one-shot deal. Not that that stops anyone - just sayin'. But this year, there's the chance for authenticity.
And I don't really know how you're going to choose your "authentic" Halloween activity. There are just too many options.
Grab your calendar and make your selections. All the goodies are after the jump.

There are just 99 days until Christmas. Wow. Instead of starting my Christmas shopping so soon (I'm close, though), I plan to spend the weekend enjoying my new kitchen, hosting an out of town guest (mi hermana), a backyard BBQ and otherwise cleaning/organizing. Sunday, I'll be one of several judges for the CPAA Woofstock (see below) Pet Costume Contest. Then, I'll rush off to catch the Steelers v. Bears game as it's not being televised. Boo Ravens!
It's another events-filled weekend in this crisp month of September. Take a look:
