Day 3 and no ponies. Fortunately, this morning, I finally snapped some photos of a posing horse during its breakfast of sand grass. More on that tomorrow, however.
Yesterday was the most relaxing day to date, if we truly are ranking them - but maybe that's because I didn't have to struggle with my poor Balderdash skills and opted for reading over walking. We sunbathed from the sandbar; I read nearly three quarters of my book.
The beach was even quieter than it had been the day before, with fewer vehicles parked on the beach, but seemingly just as many passing by. The water was cooler, too, which I prefer. The clash of temperatures was refreshing, and we frolicked a bit in the water, setting our chairs in the tide for continued cooling.
We stayed on the beach until nearly 5 p.m., taking in all the good rays (SPF-ed appropriately).
We dined on a delicious baked chicken meal, complete with fresh corn on the cob and homemade peach pie for dessert. I think I could get used to this lifestyle.
Also, last night we had our first Scrabble contests. I won the first, and came in a close second in the second match.
Warm breezes rippled through the screened-in section of the deck, where we took our late night glass of wine.
In other good news, we've been keeping an eye on the action of Hurricane Bill - and it appears we will not be affected by his whims. He seems unsure of what he's doing just yet, but it looks like we'll be back in southcentral Pennsylvania before he selects his fate.
Oh, and an update from yesterday's cry over my lost sunglasses - I e-mailed Nissley on the eensy-weensy chance that someone had found them, un-trampled-upon and turned them in. I lucked out! They are saving them for me to pick up once I return. Props to Nissley for being so helpful.
